A Chinese takeaway in Crewe has been hit with a one-star food hygiene rating, according to a recent Food Standard Agency (FSA) report.
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It gives businesses a rating from zero to five, displayed at their premises and online.
A one-star hygiene rating means "major improvement is necessary" for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Tuesday 4 June:
- Panda Kitchen, 227B Nantwich Road (Chinese Takeaway) - One Star - (10 April, 2024).
A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the Crewe takeaway to check it was following food hygiene law and ensuring the food sold was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
- Hygienic food handling - generally satisfactory (three-star)
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building – good (four-star)
- Management of food safety - major improvement necessary (one-star)
Panda Kitchen was rated one-star based on its management of food safety.
It was deemed its hygienic food handling was 'generally satisfactory'' with its cleanliness and condition of facilities and building rated 'good'.'
