New homemade marshmallow shop opens in Crewe town centre
A "unique" homemade marshmallow shop has opened inside a popular Crewe town centre venue, with the business launching an "amazing" frozen dessert this April.
Mistermallow opened up inside Crewe Market Hall on Thursday 13 March, located next door to Bailey's Wine Bar & Deli.
Operated by Emma Cavender and Martha Wrotniak, Mistermallow sells homemade marshmallows, fudge, pick and mix sweets and Polish cakes (served with fresh fruit).
Emma told Nub News: "I started Mistermallow around three years ago, selling just marshmallows at local markets.
"Last November, I opened a traditional sweet shop inside Leek Butter and Trestle Market, incorporating the marshmallows into that.
"I decided I needed to open something else alongside this, quickly finding a unit within Crewe Market Hall.
"I first came to Crewe Market Hall doing my stalls with JDL Mini Markets on Sundays. I liked the place and the atmosphere.
"When this unit was part of The Cheese Corner I thought to myself this would be ideal for Mistermallow and here we are now."
Mistermallow will be launching its 'marshmallow ice' frozen dessert "within the next week or so", along with a range of new desserts.
Emma said: "We are in the process of selling marshmallow ice, an amazing frozen marshmallow dessert. We are really excited to get it out there.
"Our marshmallows and fudge are all made ourselves. They are quite unique. We have over 25 marshmallow flavours which are changed every week.
"The whole concept started one day when I couldn't be bothered to go to the shop and buy marshmallows so I decided to try and make some at home.
"They turned out really nice with my friends and family impressed by them. They encouraged me to sell them.
"The most popular marshmallows so far in Crewe have been the caramel and chocolate ones. Our pick and mix has a wide variety of sweets. Martha's cakes are delicious."
Mistermallow is open 11am to 8pm (Thursday to Sunday). These hours will be expanded once the marshmallow ice and other desserts have been launched.
