Crewe resident 'grateful' after improving pain management at health facility
A Crewe resident is "grateful" after completing Everybody Health and Leisure's 12-week adult exercise referral programme at Crewe Lifestyle Centre.
Clare was referred to help manage pain and increase her energy levels, to help with fibromyalgia, chronic plantar fascia pain, long covid and osteoarthritis.
When asked what made her want to get involved in the programme, she said: "I am in pain everyday with my body/fibromyalgia, I just want to get better especially with the pain in my legs."
Since completing the programme, Clare says her health and fitness is "much better," with the gym helping her to be in less pain for the rest of the day.
Clare told Nub News: "The gym makes me feel in a better mood and helps me to manage my mental health which is something I have struggled with due to my anxiety.
"I just feel better in myself and my mental health, I still have good and bad days, but now I have less bad days and I know I find my escape in the gym.
"I have loved every minute of the 12 weeks; it has got me moving and I feel so much better for it.
"I am so grateful for the support from Everybody and have now joined as a member to keep me going."
Specialist health advisor at Everybody Health & Leisure, Holly Brough, told Nub News: "Clare has been a pleasure to work with and always gives of her best.
"When Clare first joined, she was a little apprehensive over whether she would be able to complete the programme.
"However, in a very short space of time built up her confidence and has been using the gym regularly.
"Clare is always smiling and happy to help others in the gym which has been great to see."
Research has shown physical activity can have a positive effect on a wide range of long term health conditions.
Increasing your physical activity can help to reduce blood pressure, weight maintenance or loss, improve lung health and mental wellbeing, besides many other benefits.
