Cheshire man charged following 'violent' and 'aggressive' Crewe hospital incident
A Cheshire man is set to appear at Crewe court this month - following his alleged "violent" and "aggressive" behaviour at the town's hospital.
The incident at Leighton Hospital's A&E Department, off Middlewich Road, happened around 4pm on Monday 3 July.
Cheshire Police officers were deployed to Crewe's hospital following reports of a "violent patient" - being "repeatedly aggressive" towards paramedics and staff.
After establishing medical treatment wasn't required, Craig Stockley, from Winsford, was arrested for causing a nuisance on NHS premises.
The 60-year-old was reportedly abusive and threatening towards medical staff, security, patients and attending police officers.
Stockley has since been charged with "cause without reasonable excuse on NHS Premises a nuisance/ disturbance."
The Cheshire man is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 24 July.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 4pm on Monday 3 July police were called to reports of a violent patient at Leighton Hospital.
"The man had been brought in by ambulance and was reportedly being aggressive towards paramedics and staff.
"Police attended and arrested a 60-year-old man.
"Craig Stockley, of Middlewich Road, Winsford, has since been charged with 'cause without reasonable excuse on NHS Premises a nuisance/ disturbance'.
"Stockley, was releases to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on 24 July."
