Casualty given oxygen and taken to hospital following Crewe house blaze
A casualty was given oxygen therapy and taken to hospital following a serious terraced house fire in Crewe - believed to have been caused by a "faulty toaster."
The incident on Meredith Street happened at 8:58am on Sunday 2 July.
Two fire engines from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - as well as North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
A resident of the terraced house was "led to safety" by Crewe firefighters and handed into the care of paramedics.
The casualty was given oxygen therapy before being taken to Leighton Hospital.
Firefighters tackled the house blaze using a hose reel jet.
Crews believe the fire was started in the kitchen of the property by a "faulty toaster."
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A house fire was reported at a terraced house on Meredith Street.
"The resident was led to safety by firefighters and given oxygen therapy before being taken to hospital.
"The fire was tackled by crew members in breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet.
"It is believed a faulty toaster caused the fire."
