A PROFESSIONAL darts player joined a Hollyoaks star for a charity football match which raised hundreds of pounds for a Crewe school.

Bradford-born world professional darts player Joe Cullen and Owen Warner, who plays Romeo in Hollyoaks, were among the line-up in the match at Alsager Town's Wood Park ground.

Dozens of people turned out to watch the stars, all members of Supporting Charities Football Club play Crewe-based Calm 84 FC, over two 60-minute matches.

The match raised money for Edleston Road Primary School in Crewe. Mark Dunning, manager of Calm 84 FC Crewe's step-son attended the school.

He said: "We've had an amazing year and this game was a celebrity match to raise money to buy books for the school.

"The weather wasn't great but everyone still had a good time and enjoyed watching some great football. We hope to have raised around £2,000."
