Crewe CC: Dawson and Webb take three wickets apiece in 8-wicket victory

CREWE claimed their fourth success of a shortened campaign to maintain their mid-table spot in NSSC Division Three.

Visitors Hanford firsts slumped from 73-3 to 116 all out with Martin Dawson and Martin Webb both taking three-wicket hauls for Crewe.

Callum Bacon (34) and Dawson (32) forged a third wicket partnership of 70 to see Crewe home in the 26th over (120-2) to an eight-wicket win.

Crewe are seventh in the table after taking 15 points for their win.

Crewe's 2nd XI also tasted success after skittling Stafford for just 72. Paul Allman finished with 3-19, while Paul Boffey top scored with 26 as Crewe reached their target (76-3) in the 34th over to claim a four-wicket win over their hosts.

The second XI lie third in NSCC Division Eight 11 points behind neighbours Audlem.
