Role Summary The Dimensional Variation Analysis Engineer will be responsible for conducting dimensional variation analysis to ensure the precision and quality of the products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, analyse, and mitigate dimensional variation issues throughout the product development and manufacturing processes. Area of Responsibility
  • Perform dimensional variation analysis using 3DCS (v8.0) tools.
  • Creation and maintenance of the tolerance analysis model using 3DCS to provide Gap and Rad, FMK, B-release drawing validation.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of build process for the complete vehicle (underbody BIW, hat & closures, final assembly interior and exterior trims)
  • Good understanding of reading GD&T and 2D drawing and implement that information in DCS model.
  • Generation of study reports with recommendation for preferred location strategy, concept, process, fixture design etc.
  • Develop and implement strategies to control and reduce dimensional variation in products and processes.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify potential sources of variation and recommend corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of analysis results, methodologies, and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for dimensional variation issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Support the development and validation of measurement systems and inspection processes.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on dimensional tolerances and specifications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in dimensional analysis techniques and tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dimensional variation analysis or a related role.
  • Proficiency in tolerance analysis software 3DCS and CAD software CATIA, teamcenter.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.
