ARM have an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant on a 3 month contract, This role is a development role in which the post-holder will rotate across different teams within the HR Service to provide a wide range of mentoring and development opportunity and exposure to the full range of HR work.

The Role:

  • Provide clear and accurate information about the full range of HR policies, practices, initiatives, and procedures in order to provide guidelines to managers
  • Manage and support specific elements of HR specialist services e.g. HR Freedom of Information requests, management of contracts for commissioned services including Agency Workers, Occupational Health, EAP and Salary Sacrifice Schemes, to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider HR service to share insight on key HR issues to ensure a joined-up approach and maximise service delivery to our customers
  • Provide technical and administrative support for the implementation of a range of HR objectives and initiatives, including an absence management strategy, recruitment and retention strategy, and succession planning

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in HR environment
  • Must have level 3 HR Apprenticeship and working toward (or committed to) undertaking the Level 5 HR Apprenticeship
  • Detailed knowledge of HR policies, procedures and processes.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to interpret terms conditions of employment and regulations etc

Lead and manage a team of HR Operations staff to deliver Workforce Strategy and Service Workforce Plans through effective business partnering and policy development, translating business strategies into people solutions and driving continuous improvement. Develop, lead, and promote HR initiatives/projects and specialisms, providing advice on implementation to ensure they meet the needs of the business. Provide high-level professional HR advice on best practice, legislation, terms and conditions, pensions, and related matters for fair and consistent employee management. Support worker relations matters and service Joint Consultative and Negotiating Panels (JCNP s) to achieve effective and harmonious working relationships throughout the Council. Attend local and regional meetings to represent the Council on HR matters and disseminate key messages to ensure policies and processes meet business needs.
