Job Title: Senior Site Supervisor (x2) Location: Crewe (Office-based with borough-wide travel) Department: Construction Contract Type: Contract - 3 to 6 Months Rate: 40- 45 per hour (Inside IR35)
Overview:We are seeking up to two experienced Senior Site Supervisors to support the delivery of civil engineering and surfacing projects across the area. This is a contract role, ideal for individuals with strong site supervision experience in highways or infrastructure schemes. The successful candidates will manage a range of improvement works-from scoping through to execution-ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:Project Management & Delivery- Lead and supervise the delivery of planned, reactive, and emergency works.
- Scope and manage minor and major improvement projects efficiently.
- Oversee both internal delivery teams and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure delivery meets programme targets, contractual obligations, and budget constraints.
- Engage early with design and supply chain to assess buildability and mitigate risks.
- Conduct daily site inspections and produce clear site supervision reports.
- Interpret technical drawings and contribute to design improvements.
- Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks to operational teams.
- Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety, CDM regulations, and company procedures.
- Support junior team members and deputise for the Team Leader when required.
- Proven experience in civil engineering, highways, or resurfacing supervision.
- Experience managing project budgets and handling contract variations/change control.
- Familiarity with NEC contract conditions and project delivery methods.
- Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, CDM, and risk management on-site.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and site management tools.
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects valued at 2 million+, particularly footway or cycleway improvements.
- Working knowledge of MCHW, DMRB, and NRSWA.
- Awareness of statutory obligations such as the Land Drainage Act.
- Self-starter with excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams to deliver high-quality work.
