Job Title: Senior Site Supervisor (x2) Location: Crewe (Office-based with borough-wide travel) Department: Construction Contract Type: Contract - 3 to 6 Months Rate: 40- 45 per hour (Inside IR35)

Overview:

We are seeking up to two experienced Senior Site Supervisors to support the delivery of civil engineering and surfacing projects across the area. This is a contract role, ideal for individuals with strong site supervision experience in highways or infrastructure schemes. The successful candidates will manage a range of improvement works-from scoping through to execution-ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:Project Management & Delivery
  • Lead and supervise the delivery of planned, reactive, and emergency works.
  • Scope and manage minor and major improvement projects efficiently.
  • Oversee both internal delivery teams and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure delivery meets programme targets, contractual obligations, and budget constraints.
  • Engage early with design and supply chain to assess buildability and mitigate risks.
Site Supervision & Technical Oversight
  • Conduct daily site inspections and produce clear site supervision reports.
  • Interpret technical drawings and contribute to design improvements.
  • Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks to operational teams.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety, CDM regulations, and company procedures.
  • Support junior team members and deputise for the Team Leader when required.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience in civil engineering, highways, or resurfacing supervision.
  • Experience managing project budgets and handling contract variations/change control.
  • Familiarity with NEC contract conditions and project delivery methods.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, CDM, and risk management on-site.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and site management tools.
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience delivering infrastructure projects valued at 2 million+, particularly footway or cycleway improvements.
  • Working knowledge of MCHW, DMRB, and NRSWA.
  • Awareness of statutory obligations such as the Land Drainage Act.
