Quantity Surveyor (Highways, TMC)

Our client, a leading organisation in the Highways sector, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team. In collaboration with Design and Road Safety Teams, the successful candidate will manage the full life cycle of design-build schemes delivered under Options A, C, and E of the NEC3 Term Service Contract. This role requires meticulous planning, cost management, and effective communication to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports
- Conduct risk, value management, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams for successful project delivery
- Monitor project progress and manage change effectively
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Evaluate completed work and arrange payments to contractors
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Experience with NEC3/4 or similar construction contracts
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in cost management
- UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communicator in all mediums and at all levels
- Understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace
- Organised and deadline-oriented
- Analytical and numerical with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally
