Are you an experienced Calibration Engineer looking for your next challenge in the automotive industry? We re recruiting for a leading OEM on a long-term contract opportunity that offers hybrid working, global travel, and is outside IR35.

About the Role:

You ll play a pivotal role in engine calibration to meet stringent global regulations and performance targets across emissions, OBDII, fuel efficiency, and driveability. Working as part of a dynamic R&D team, you ll calibrate Engine Management Systems (EMS), validate software functions, manage global test programmes, and liaise with cross-functional teams and suppliers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engine calibration using tools like ETAS INCA and Bosch EMS (ME(D)17 / MG1)
  • Define, develop, and validate EMS software functions and datasets
  • Manage test programmes including hot and cold weather field trials globally
  • Support vehicle and powertrain prototype development
  • Ensure compliance with emissions and OBDII regulations
  • Lead technical discussions, report findings, and deliver calibration sign-offs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers across multiple locations

About You:

  • Proven experience in EMS calibration (3+ years), particularly with Bosch ME(D)17 or MG1
  • Skilled in INCA and data management for EMS development
  • Strong understanding of global emissions and OBDII standards
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Engineering degree or HND/HNC in a relevant field
  • Ability to work independently and lead calibration activities
  • This is a hybrid role, requiring both on-site collaboration and remote work. You must be open to frequent international travel, including trips to extreme climate environments for field testing.
