Service Care Solutions are working alongside a Local Authority in Cheshire who are looking for a motivated and dynamic Corporate Finance Advisor to join their team on a temporary contract. Role: Corporate Finance AdvisorLocation: CheshireWorking: Hybrid (1 day in office per week) 37 Hours per weekSalary: 33.18- 36.45 per hour (PAYE exc.) to 37.45 - 41.31 per hour (umbrella) (based on experience qualifications and interview performance) Contract: 3 months on going The role involves leading strategic financial services for the local authority, ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations, and developing the Medium-Term Financial Strategy. Collaboration with service directors and stakeholders is essential to align financial strategies with business objectives, providing analysis and recommendations to inform decision-making. Main responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to the Chief Finance Officer on the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, statutory duties, and lead the preparation of balanced annual budgets and financial reports.
- Oversee the Reserves Strategy, Capital Strategy, Treasury Management Strategy, and ensure effective financial governance, risk management, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of the annual Statement of Accounts, manage technical accounting advisory services, and liaise with external auditors and agencies.
- Develop and implement Finance Procedures, provide advice on financial delegation, and support senior management in budget management and forecasting.
- Manage and motivate the finance team, promote financial systems, ensure staff development, and foster a culture of accountability, governance, and continuous improvement.
