A small business from Crewe has said it feels 'honoured' to win the Young Trader Market - held at a new Crewe town centre venue last weekend.
The Young Trader Market was held inside Crewe Market Hall's new outdoor venue, Crewe Central, last Saturday (June 18).
The winner of the competition was Crewe small business, The Resin Nook - owned by Ms Dion Patterson.
The 25-year-old's small business is based on producing handmade crafts - all made from resin.
"This can range from necklaces, earrings, keychains and bookmarks to ashtrays, coasters and my new latest bottle openers", says business owner Ms Patterson.
The Resin Nook won Crewe Market Hall's Young Traders competition ahead of CMS Tutoring in third and Tom Watson's Wattalotta Sweetz in second.
Ms Patterson told Nub News: "I really didn't think I was going to be in the top three, let alone first. There were so many talented traders there with me.
"I'm new to the whole business events and took a plunge into this young traders market.
"I thought it would be an eye opener to see how others do trade and get tips and tricks off of everyone."
The Young Trader Market consisted of 12 stalls and ran from 10am until 4pm - inside Crewe Central.
This venue is located inside the former outdoor covered markets - now a dedicated events space.
Ms Patterson added: "I feel honoured to have gotten first place and it's pushed me even more to keep going and trying my absolute hardest into my business.
"I couldn't have done it without the support of everyone around me."
Crewe Central officially opened on Friday (June 17).
A new bar, The Kennel Bar, opened inside at 5pm that night - an expansion of The Crewe Dog inside Crewe Market Hall.
Ms Dion Patterson will now take her business into The North West Regional Final held in Bolton on Saturday (July 16).
If The Resin Nook can win this and the National Final - it will also win £500 prize money.
