Crewe Market Hall will be hosting free live music inside the venue tonight - also launching a new entertainment venue and bar.

Free music act, The Tall Faces, will be performing inside Crewe Market Hall tonight (June 17).

Crewe Central is a new outdoor venue for live music, live sport, a bar and markets - located in the former covered outdoor markets.

A new bar, The Kennel Bar, ran by market stall The Crewe Dog - will also be launching inside Crewe Central today (June 17).

Commercial operators of Crewe Market Hall, Market Asset Management (MAM), have confirmed that free live music is here to stay inside the venue.

This news comes after Crewe Market Hall cancelled its two live music acts inside the venue last weekend, Saturday (June 11) and Sunday (June 12).

The market received two complaints from stall holders about the music volume and replaced acts Tourniquet and Memory Lane with 'multi-genre background music.'

Tourniquet told followers on social media the group were 'gutted' the performance was cancelled.

Tourniquet were upset that Crewe Market Hall postponed the band's performance last week (Crewe Market Hall).

Hayden Ferriby, Commercial Director for market operators Market Asset Management, said: "The market has established itself as an exciting, vibrant place to shop, eat, drink where people enjoy live high quality live entertainment.

"This is as well as the delicious offerings from our superb independent and innovative traders.

"This week we were delighted to confirm that Crewe Central comprising a new bar – The Kennel - and performance space opens tonight in the covered shed building behind the market hall.

"Tonight, people can listen to a mix of ska and reggae and lap up the fantastic lagers and beers at The Kennel.

General manager of the Crewe Dog, Louis Delaney will launch The Kennel Bar tonight- June 17 (The Crewe Dog).

"Scheduled live Crewe Central performances including non-ticketed free events and ticketed events will be happening and advertised in the coming weeks.

"But these will be as an extension and not at the expense of our live events programme inside the market hall which will continue and again be advertised in advance."

The Kennel Bar will launch inside Crewe Central at 5pm, open until 10pm.

Background music will be played inside the former covered market.

The Young Traders Market (June 18) and Crewe Market's Hall's monthly pop up market (June 19), will also be held inside Crewe Central this weekend.

Joint-owner of authentic Indian stall Bombaye Junction, Robby, was happy live music will remain inside the venue - describing the decision as 'amazing.'

She told Nub News: "Live music makes Crewe Market Hall lively and is the true crowd puller."

Operators Market Asset Management, took charge of Crewe Market Hall when the £3m refurbishment from Cheshire East Council had been completed last year.

The company took on the venue, believing that markets are far more than somewhere to buy and sell goods.

Crewe Market Hall is operated by Market Asset Management. It made the decision to bring free live music back inside (Ryan Parker).

The operators based in Colchester, Essex believe Crewe Market Hall should be a vibrant place to shop, eat, drink and are hubs for the local community.
