Crewe Nub News has complied a list of the top five read stories on its website in 2023, excluding crime.

Five - Major fast food chain plans to open 24-hour drive thru in Crewe
In February, Custodian Capital Ltd submitted proposals to open a new Taco Bell on Phoenix Leisure Park, Dunwoody Way.
The former Pizza Hut unit had been under offer for over 12 months, following its forced closure in December 2021.
Taco Bell has since remove the existing doors, windows, flooring and seating arrangements, remodelling the whole interior.
It has also finished the drive-thru, running along the side of the building.
Taco Bell signs were placed up on the site this December. It is expected to open in early 2024.

Four - Crewe town centre shop announces permanent closure just 12 months after opening
The Doghouse Craft Beer & Record Shop, Crewe Market Hall, shut down for good in April.
General manager of The Crewe Dog, Louis Delaney, launched the store in April 2022, an expansion of the popular market hall bar.
The craft beer and record store offered modern and vintage vinyl, as well as a raft of music memorabilia and merchandise.
It has also filled its shelves with over 200 takeaway beers and ales from around the world.
The Doghouse Craft Beer & Record Shop was recently replaced by seasonal shop Tinsel Town. To read this article click HERE.
Three - Crewe's Queens Park fireworks display back for 2023 with big bonfire return
Queens Park's fireworks spectacular went ahead on Sunday 5 November, with its popular bonfire returning for the first time in four years.
Thousands of people flocked to the Crewe Lions charity event, praised as the best at Queens Park in years.
There was bigger funfair at the event than 2022's, with a larger variety of food stalls.
Gates opened at 5pm, with admission £5 for all those over five. All proceeds went to local charities.
Blitz Fireworks controlled the timings of the fireworks in line with safety requirements.

Two - New Netflix series starring huge names to be filmed in Crewe
Fool Me Once, starring the likes of Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Joanna Lumley and Adeel Akhtar, was filmed on David Whitby Way on Sunday 16 July.
The eight-part series is set to be released in January 2024, with Keegan playing grieving widow, Maya Stern, who is trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe Burkett [Artimage].
Detective sergeant Sami Kierce [Akhtar], leads the murder investigation into Joe's death while struggling with secrets of his own.
Lumley, 77, is set to play Judith Burkett, the mother of Maya's murdered husband.
While filming in Crewe, the series' unit base was located on Crewe Alexandra FC's Car Park.

One - BBC TV presenter 'excited' to perform at 'wonderful' Crewe venue
BBC Bargain Hunt's Christina Trevanion spoke to Nub News about performing Antiques And A Little Bit Of Nonsense at Crewe Lyceum Theatre in October.
Christina, 42 was joined by Charlie Ross, Charles Hanson and Phil Serrell at Crewe's Edwardian theatre.
The show entertained audiences with unheard tales from television, the auction room and beyond,
Christina has appeared on a number of BBC daytime television programmes as both an antiques expert and an auctioneer.
As well as Bargain Hunt, programmes she has featured on include Flog It, Antiques Road Trip and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.
