New Netflix series starring huge names to be filmed in Crewe this weekend

A new Netflix thriller series starring huge names from the acting world is believed to be being filmed in Crewe this weekend - for one day only.

Fool Me Once, starring the likes of Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Joanna Lumley and Adeel Akhtar, is being filmed on David Whitby Way this Sunday (July 16).

The eight-part series is set to be released in 2023, with Keegan playing grieving widow, Maya Stern, who is trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe Burkett [Artimage].

When Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see a man she recognises in her house, her husband, who she thought was dead.

Detective sergeant Sami Kierce [Akhtar], leads the murder investigation into Joe's death while struggling with secrets of his own.

Lumley, 77, is set to play Judith Burkett, the mother of Maya's murdered husband.

Fool Me Once is adapted from the 2016 Harlan Coben novel of the same name by Danny Brocklehurst.

While filming in Crewe, Fool Me Once's unit base is located on Crewe Alexandra FC's Car Park (Ryan Parker).

David Moore (Outlander) and Nimer Rashed (Casualty), will be directing on the Quay Street Productions series.

While filming in Crewe, the series' unit base is located on Crewe Alexandra FC's Car Park from Thursday evening (July 13) until Sunday evening (July 16).

This unit base is made up of approximately 50 crew cars and 12 American style trailers, which contain costume, make up, catering, production and actor holding.

David Whitby Way will be closed all day on July 16 to allow the Netflix series filming to take place.
