A homeless man from Crewe ended up becoming part of a famous comedian's show in the town, following a "special" encounter outside the Lyceum Theatre.

Anthony Wilson bumped into Daniel O' Reily, also known as Dapper Laughs in Lyceum Square on Saturday 12 October, hours before his Lyceum stand up show.

The funny social media content creator handed Anthony £10 and asked the Crewe man what he was up that evening, inviting him to attend his performance at 8pm.

Daniel O'Reilly, handed Anthony Wilson £10, inviting him to attend his Crewe Lyecum performance that evening (Daniel' O'Reilly).

Anthony replied " I definitely will come, thank you" with Daniel, two years sober to the day, getting his name put on the VIP list to sit in the Royal Box.

When Daniel began his gig, Anthony got involved with his performance on multiple occasions, becoming the 40-year-old's "comedy sidekick."

The unlikely duo put the Crewe audience in stitches throughout the show, creating a night Anthony will never forget.

Daniel said: "The day a homeless guy from Crewe became part of my stand up comedy show.

"Last weekend was so surreal, I hit the two years sober mark on Saturday and the universe chose that day for me and this guy to meet, he made the night that bit more special by randomly becoming my double act in the show.

Anthony Wilson got a place in the Royal Box where he became Daniel O'Reilly's 'comedy sidekick' for the night (Daniel O'Reilly).

"He ended up not only coming to the show, but through a funny turn of events getting the royal box, then practically becoming my comedy sidekick.

"Was a night of sharing laughs, jokes and stories, in a weird way it felt like it was meant to happen and reminded me we are all connected no matter what our situation in life and how easy it is to change someone's day by just noticing them.

"Comedy changed my life and every now and then it changes someone else's day, its a privilege to be able to do it.

"Thank you lot for coming to my tour shows and making that possible."

Anthony, who's son's girlfriend has put him up in a Travelodge that evening, was very grateful for Daniel's invite to show, calling him a "real" and "faultless" guy.

Daniel O'Reilly said his encounter with Anthony Wilson in Crewe reminded him 'how easy it is to change someone's day by just noticing them' (Daniel O'Reilly).

Lyceum Theatre director, Graham McKnight, told Nub News: "We were glad to be able to provide the Royal Box experience for Anthony at Daniel's show last weekend.

"The show had some fantastic feedback and it's good to know everyone had such a great evening."
