A Class A drug dealer from Crewe who was arrested after carrying a knife in the town has been jailed.

Daniel Fletcher appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 3 September where he was jailed for 42 months.

The 38-year-old, of Bateman Close, had pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of a knife in a public place.

At 6.40pm on 26 March 2026, police were called to the Bateman Close area of Crewe following reports of a man in possession of a knife.

Officers attended and Fletcher was found wearing no top and no shoes in the street.

He was witnessed discarding a knife into the bushes next to him and he was subsequently detained. Officers located the kitchen knife in the bushes.

They then attended Fletcher's address to check the welfare of the other occupants, and a large quantity of white powder was located in Fletcher's room.

The 5oz ball of cocaine was estimated to be worth between £10,500 and £17,500.

A mobile phone was also recovered which contained evidence of drugs supply.

Detective Sergeant, Kevin Williams, said: "Fletcher has been handed a substantial custodial sentence after pleading guilty to these offences thanks to evidence against him.

"His arrest and conviction have also meant a large quantity of drugs has been taken off the streets.

"Let this serve as a reminder that drugs-related offences and possession of weapons will not be tolerated and those who choose to break the law will be held accountable."
