Major infrastructure work will take place in the coming months as part of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's ambitious £1bn plus plans to build a new Leighton Hospital in Crewe.

Over the next few months, essential work will be taking place around Leighton Hospital, which may impact road journeys.

In order to bring electrical power to the site of the new hospital, cabling will be installed along several roads in the area, including Middlewich Road, Brian Palin Way, Tottys Hall Way, and Flowers Lane.

Additionally, the Vistry Group will build a roundabout on Flowers Lane as part of its housing development to the east of Leighton Hospital.

MEP Lead for the Trust's Healthier Futures team, Jim O'Brien, said: "Building a new hospital is a major project, which is why we must undertake some critical engineering works well in advance of the actual hospital construction work.

"During this period, it is likely traffic management measures will be in place, which will impact travel around the area, and to and from Leighton Hospital.

"We are currently liaising with our partners to plan the work and will share full details with the public once everything has been confirmed."
