Man taken to hospital after being found on 'wrong side' of Crewe railway bridge
A man has been taken to hospital after being found on the "wrong side" of a railway bridge in Crewe - affecting local traffic and rail services.
The incident on Bradfield Road, happened at 6:25am on Monday 3 July - with concerns for the welfare of the man.
Cheshire Police officers arrived to find the man on the wrong side of the railway bridge - blocking off a section of Bradfield Road.
Officers engaged with the man who was talked down and taken to Leighton Hospital by North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
Bradfield Road was reopened shortly after 8am with rail services also resumed.
Later in the morning, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At 6.25am on Monday 3 July, police were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man on Bradfield Road, Crewe.
"Officers attended the scene and found a man on the wrong side of the bridge.
"The road was closed while officers engaged with the man, who was subsequently taken to Leighton Hospital.
"The road reopened at around 8am."
Avanti West Coast confirmed the Crewe railway line was "blocked" during the incident.
A social media statement read: "Due to a trespasser in the Crewe area, this line is blocked.
"Because of this some of our trains may be delayed or diverted.
"Please check your journey before you travel."
