Cheshire Police officers have arrested a man for assaulting a woman with a "stick like weapon" in Crewe town centre - following reports of a disturbance.

The incident on Prince Albert Street, happened on the evening of Friday 30 June.

Crewe Police quickly arrived at the scene, arresting a man for assaulting a female with the weapon.

A man was arrested for assaulting a female with the 'stick like weapon' on Prince Albert Street (Nub News).

The female suffered non-serious injuries from the assault.

The man was taken into police custody and processed.

Local authority CCTV captured the entire assault incident.

Crewe Police confirmed the incident with a social media statement.

The man was taken into police custody and processed - with locla authority CCTV capturing the assault (Cheshire Police).

It read: "On Friday 30 June, officers were dispatched to the Crewe east central area after reports of a disturbance.

"Local authority CCTV captured an assault in progress. 

"Officers from the Crewe Response unit attended and detained a suspect.

"A male was arrested for causing an assault using a stick like weapon on a female.

The female suffered non-serious injuries in the Prince Albert Street assault (Google).

"Luckily the female had non-serious injuries. The male was then taken Into Police custody and processed."
