An investigation is "ongoing" after a 'take me' taxi collided with a marked police car in Crewe, with both vehicles needing to be recovered.

The two vehicles collided on Valley Road, Wistaston, by Joey The Swan, on Monday 22 January.

At around 7:04pm, Cheshire Police officers arrived at the scene, blocking off Valley Road at its junction with Broughton Lane.

Valley Road reopened around 10pm, after both vehicles were recovered (Nub News).

Both vehicles sustained damage, with the marked police car having visible damage to its front end.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 7.04pm on Monday 22 January, there was a two-vehicle collision on Valley Road, Wistaston, involving a marked police car.

The collision incident took place on Valley Road, by Joey The Swan (Nub News).

"Both vehicles were recovered and an investigation into the collision is ongoing."

This incident was the third collision involving a police car in Crewe this week.
