Cheshire East Council has refused a Crewe childcare company's proposals to expand on to non-domestic premises in the town, after providing "insufficient information."

ABC Childcare, of 129 Gainsborough Road, wanted to expand its premises with an (at least four) bedroom building, in a garage conversion.

Currently with a permission for 20 children, these proposals would have increased its capacity by 10, accommodating up to 30 children.

ABC Childcare's application was well received by the local community, securing 14 positive representations (Ryan Parker).

ABC Childcare's application was well received by the local community, securing 14 positive representations and three objections.

One Gainsborough Road resident said: "I'm so happy with my child attending ABC and all the teams hard work.

"If I could find the right job to outweigh the cost in childcare, I would put my child in full-time at ABC no question. If they had the space and extra capacity that is.

"I am 100 per cent not alone in this scenario, so expanding the places and setting offered can only help those customers who want to use the childcare facility."

Cheshire East Environmental Health, however, were unsatisfied ABC Childcare had not submitted a noise report, recommending the application to be refused.

An environmental officer said: "Insufficient information has been submitted with the application, in order to adequately assess the impact of the proposed development having regard to noise from use of the premise.

Cheshire East Environmental Health were unsatisfied ABC Childcare had not submitted a noise report, recommending the application to be refused (Ryan Parker).

"In the absence of this information, it has not been possible to demonstrate that the proposal would comply with material planning considerations."

"It is recommended that the applicant addresses this issue in future planning applications or provides this information should the application be delayed or withdrawn."

Following Cheshire East Environmental Health's assessment, ABC Childcare's application was refused.

The Crewe company may decide to resubmit its application with more information.
