Huge UK off-price clothing retailer signs up for Crewe employment site
A huge UK off-price clothing and home goods retailer has signed up for a Crewe employment site - acquiring 450,000 sq ft of space.
TK Maxx won the race to lease property company, PLP's unit at Basford West employment scheme on Tuesday (January 24) - following stiff competition.
Glencar Construction was appointed to build the 450,000 sq ft warehouse in 2022 - with construction completed in December.
Likewize, Jack Mils Way, leased PLP's 135,000 sq ft, first phase of the Crewe scheme in September 2020.
TK Maxx has now signed up for the 460,000 sq ft shed - as part of the construction's second phase.
Development director at PLP, Keith Wilson, was delighted with TK Maxx's South Cheshire purchase.
He said: "Developing such a fantastic building in such a prime and established location, we were always confident in securing an occupier quickly,"
"Even then, we were surprised by the sheer number of occupiers who expressed interest in the building during construction.
"TK Maxx stood out from the crowd, and we are delighted to welcome them to PLP Crewe."
PLP Crewe 460 is located close to Junction 16 of the M6 - off the A500.
It was brought forward to meet the demand for big box logistics space in the region.
The unit was constructed in accordance with the UK Green Building Council Carbon Net Zero standard.
It includes 10,000 sq ft of roof-mounted solar panels.
The development has underground infrastructure in place - allowing 100 per cent of car and HGV parking spaces to have electric charging points when required.
TK Maxx's Crewe letting is one of the biggest in the North West during recent times.
