Fire crews tackle serious bedroom blaze at house in Crewe

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a serious bedroom blaze at a property in Crewe, with all occupants safe and accounted for.

On Sunday 29 September, fire crews were called to an incident on Alton Street.

At 3.09am, two fire engines from Crewe and a rapid response rescue unit from Nantwich arrived at the scene.

The Crewe and Nantwich firefighters discovered flames coming from the first floor bedroom of a property, using a hose reel to put it out.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze, with the incident determined to be not suspicious (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a house fire on Alton Street, Crewe.

"On arrival, they were confronted with a fire involving a first floor bedroom of the property. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

"A large fan was used to help clear smoke out of the building and the affected room was checked over with a thermal imaging camera.

"All occupants of the property were accounted for."
