Crewe Alexandra FC's star full-back, Rio Adebisi has departed the club for Peterborough United, with The Alex responding to bring Max Sanders from Leyton Orient.

The Railwaymen made their fourth summer signing on Thursday 3 July, bringing in the 25-year-old centre midfielder for an undisclosed fee.

The former Brighton, Wimbledon and Lincoln City midfielder, who made 30 appearances for Orient last season, has signed on a two-year deal.

Crewe Alexandra FC left-back, Rio Adebisi, 23, has departed the club for Peterborough United on a three-year deal (Crewe Alex).

Sanders, who played for England Under-19s, can also play as a defensive midfielder.

He follows the arrival of forward, Kane Hemmings, defender Jamie Knight-Lebel and attacking playmaker Jack Lankester.

The signing of Sanders comes after Rio Adebisi joined The Posh for an undisclosed fee around 30 minutes earlier.

The 23-year-old left-back, who joined Crewe aged 12, has agreed a three-year deal to play for the League One club.

Adebisi progressed through the youth ranks at Reaseheath, going on to make 136 appearances for the Alex.

The Croydon-born defender made 54 of those appearances in 2023/24, scoring four goals and registering seven assists.

Max Sanders has become Crewe Alexandra's fourth summer signing under Lee Bell (Crewe Alex).

A Crewe Alex statement read: "Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to thank Rio for his 11 years of service and wish him the best for the future.

"We would like to welcome Max [Sanders] and wish him the best of luck during his time in South Cheshire."

Crewe Alex started their 2024/25 pre-season training at Reaseheath on Tuesday 2 July.
