Crewe Alexandra FC have captured creative attacker, Jack Lankester from Cambridge United on a three-year contract, becoming the club's third summer signing.

Lankester, who can play wide or in attacking midfield, came through the ranks at Ipswich Town.

The 24-year-old was voted Ipswich's Young Player of the Year in 2018-19, making 11 Championship appearances.

Lankester went on to make 30 appearances for the Norfolk club, netting three times.

In 2021, the winger switched clubs in League One to join The U's. He went make 123 appearances across three seasons there, scoring on eight occasions.

On Thursday 27 June, Lankester joined Crewe after undisclosed terms were agreed between the two clubs.

Lankester has become Lee Bell's third senior summer signing, following striker Kane Hemmings and defender Jamie Knight-Lebel within the past week.
