Crewe Alexandra FC have brought in Canada Under-20 international defender Jamie Knight-Lebel from Bristol City, joining the club on a season-long loan.
Knight-Lebel becomes Crewe's second summer recruit, following the arrival of seasoned striker, Kane Hemmings, on Friday 21 June.
The 19-year-old centre-half is expected to remain at Mornflake Stadium until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
Knight-Lebel, who stands at 6ft 3ins tall, signed a new three-year deal with the Robins in March.
The right-footer, who can also operate at full-back, has a January recall clause in his loan deal with The Alex.
Knight-Lebel made his Bristol City debut away to Cardiff City in October 2023, so far making three appearances for the Championship club.
Since 2022, the highly-rated defender has made four appearances for Canada Under-20s.
A Crewe Alex statement read: "Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome Jamie and wish him the best of luck for the season."
The Railwaymen remain in talks to sign a new central midfielder. The contracts of Rio Adebisi and Courtney Baker-Richardson are yet to be resolved.
