Crewe Alexandra have complete signing of a promising Premier League midfielder with EFL experience, becoming the club's seventh summer signing.

Joe White completed his move to Crewe on Wednesday 30 August, signing on a loan deal initially until January 14, 2024, from Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder joined the Magpies at the age of 16, going on to represent England at Under-18 level.

Joe White, 20, has played for England at Under-18 level and played on loan for Hartlepool United and Exeter City (Crewe Alex).

White has enjoyed previous loan spells at Hartlepool United (21/22) and Exeter City (22/23), where he racked up 32 appearances combined.

In November 2021, White scored his first and only career goal to date, coming in a Newcastle-Under 21s EFL Trophy away defeat to Mansfield Town.

The creative left-footer was awarded a new three-year deal by Eddie Howe in 2022.

White joins Harvey Davies, Ryan Cooney, Shilow Tracey, Jack Powell, Mickey Demetriou and Aaron Rowe in making the move to Crewe this summer.

A Crewe Alexandra statement read: "Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome Joe and wish him all the best for his loan spell."

Crewe are still hopeful of making another signing before the transfer deadline.
