Crewe Alexandra have completed the signing of a League Two club's 2023 Player of the Season - signing on a two-year contract.

Midfielder, Jack Powell, officially signed for Crewe from Crawley Town on Friday 30 June - becoming the fourth signing of the summer.

The creative 29-year-old joins until 2025 with an option for a further 12 months included in the agreement.

Nicknamed 'The Peckham Pirlo,' Powell started his career in West Ham's academy - before joining Millwall in 2013.

The midfielder spent three years at Millwall, making six EFL appearances - also being loaned out to non-league side, Braintree Town.

Following successful spells with Ebbsfleet United and Maidstone United, Powell joined League Two Crawley Town in 2019.

Starting with a loan at Aldershot Town, Powell went on to make 151 appearances with the Reds, scoring nine goals.

In 2022/23, Jack Powell netted four times and contributed five assists for Crawley Town - scooping the club's Player of the Season award (Wikimedia Commons).

Powell joins goalkeeper Harvey Davies, right-back, Ryan Cooney and right winger, Shilow Tracey in joining The Alex this summer.
