Crewe Alex dip back into transfer market with signing of skilful winger
Crewe Alexandra have dipped back into the transfer market with the signing of a skilful winger, becoming the club's sixth summer signing.
Aaron Rowe completed his move to Crewe on Wednesday 30 August, signing on a season-long loan from Huddersfield Town.
The 22-year-old, who can play in a number of positions, including both wings, and full back, has previously played in the Premier League for The Terriers.
Rowe joined the West Yorkshire club as a 17-year-old, making 27 appearances for the Championship club to date.
The 2020/21 season saw Rowe make 20 Sky Bet Championship appearances, scoring one goal and creating one assist.
In January 2021, Rowe scored his first ever senior goal in a 3-2 FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle.
His first league goal came in April 2021, a 2-0 EFL Championship away win against Nottingham Forest.
Rowe has previous experience of loan spells at Boston, Bromley and most recently, Stockport County, where he made three appearances.
The versatile player joins Harvey Davies, Ryan Cooney, Shilow Tracey, Jack Powell and Mickey Demetriou in making the move to South Cheshire this transfer window.
Rowe will wear the number 21 shirt for Crewe and will be contention to face MK Dons at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday (September 2).
A Crewe Alex statement read: "Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome Aaron and wish him all the best for the season."
Crewe are hopeful of making more signings before the transfer deadline at 11pm on Friday 1 September.
