About the role

We have a fixed term, full-time opportunity for an Extra Care Scheme Manager to join us for 6 months covering our Cheshire schemes, working 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday. This role provides an intensive housing management service to residents living in our Extra Care scheme. You will deliver high-quality housing support to our residents to enhance quality of life, whilst maintaining independence and privacy.

The successful individual will be responsible for managing the scheme, including the Health & Safety of the buildings and looking after our customers. You will oversee all tenancy and leasehold matters and work collaboratively with the relevant teams.

You will work in partnership with Social Services and third parties and our on-site Care Team to ensure the needs of our customers are met.

You will need to be flexible to travel between our schemes when needed as this is a floating role. And will require a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Skills/Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrates a sensitive and supportive approach to vulnerable people, always maintaining their dignity and self-respect.
  • Experience in managing a service providing care and support to older people and the promotion and improvement of service delivery working closely and in consultation with residents.
  • Experience in managing budgets and a good understanding of commercial data.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and experience in dealing with harassment and nuisance.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make decisions, but within existing system.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to write report with excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of current issues in the provision of social housing and care for the elderly and the ageing process, has empathy with elderly people and can assist customers within the confines of manual handling techniques.
  • Experience in management, motivating/leading staff.

Desirable:

  • Housing management experience
  • Experience in managing specialist rented housing
  • Experience in basic maintenance and related matters
