The White Lion is a refined Gastro Pub & exemplary Hotel situated within picturesque Cheshire countryside in the semi-rural village of Weston. The property is grade II listed building and was originally built in 1652 as a farmhouse. It still retains its original charm and distinctive appearance, full of character adorned with part wooden panelled walls and bay windows. 

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head chef to Join the team, Our fixed menu offers classic British favourites alongside dishes inspired by flavours from across the globe, featuring some classic grills and fresh seafood, as well as small plates. Alongside our fixed menu, we offer specials each day and week, which the head chef has complete freedom to create these. All of our dishes are cooked fresh, with fresh produce and fresh ideas! 

As a Head Chef you will be someone who can motivate, engage, and lead a team. You will manage the kitchen team, run the daily operations of the kitchen reporting to the General Manager. You will have a passion and flair for delivering quality food using fresh ingredients and the ability to manage, motivate and take responsibility for the kitchen team. 

· Directly involved with all aspects of food preparation and food storage as detailed within service operating procedures 

· Overseeing a smooth and successful service daily to achieve order of service to a very high standard 

· Work closely with management, learning about the working practices within all sections of the kitchen 

· Communication with general manager regarding personal development, appraisals, and long-term objectives of the kitchen staff 

· Be aware of and operate within all legislation that is relevant to the job ensuring all legal requirements are met including licensing, health & safety at work, COSHH, environmental health, fire precautions etc. 

  • Must have proven experience of working within a busy kitchen in a similar role 

· Food Hygiene Certificate 

· A good team player with the ability to handle a faced paced environment 

· Must display a keen interest in all aspects of the kitchen function 

  • Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus support those around you 

· Knowledge and ability to run a section as well as the ability to produce good quality food in all sections 

· Clear Communication with a Positive & approachable manner and the ability to lead a Team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent 

Pay: £37,500.00-£42,500.00 per year
