Job Title: Rolling Stock Fitter
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter from a manufacturing / engineering environment.
Based within the Rolling Stock industry (Trains) we are currently recruiting for Mechanical Engineers to operate out of a Rolling stock depot based in Crewe, to carry out the Mechanical Overhaul of Rail Bogies. Candidates will be required to carry out the following duties:
Mechanical Fitter Main Duties:
- • Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering
- Wheel set overhaul, repair and analysis
- Bogie chassis, damage repair and clean
- Bogie and gearbox engineering / repair
- Wheel exchange on wheel sets
- Bearing, axle and wheel mounting
- Components and sub-assemblies overhaul repair and analysis
- Re-engineering and production of spare parts
To undertake all types of Mechanical, repair and replace on Rolling Stock to ensure that we provide our customer with a reliable, safe and defect free train.
They require a Mechanical Fitter with a minimum 5 years experience.
Qualifications / Skills/ Experience:
•Candidates would preferably be time served and apprentice trained with the relevant mechanical papers. A minimum of a NVQ level 2 in a Mechanical discipline is a requirement.
You will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative. You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills. You will need extensive all-round knowledge of Mechanical Engineering You will ideally have knowledge of modern rolling stock systems, You will ideally have experience of Train depot operations.
Hourly pay rate: Mechanical Fitter: £18.25 PAYE / £23.14 Umbrella.
Overtime First 5 hours at Flat rate then time & half.
Those candidates that maybe aren t classically trained would be put through some training courses but they would be on a lower rate of £14.67 Paye / £18.25 Umbrella for the first 4 weeks
Shifts: Mon-Fri 8am 4.30pm Hours per week: 37
