Location: Home-based, off-site as required (3-hour radius from Crewe)

Job Description

A well-established and reputable client of ours is seeking a Field Service Engineer to add to their Rail business field service team.

The ideal candidate for the Field Service Engineer position will be a positive team player with a self-starter attitude and have ideally 2 or more years' experience maintaining/ repairing large commercial HVAC.

Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer

  • Initial preparation of work (tools, parts etc.), day to day liaison with customers and keeping accurate, concise records of work completed.
  • Working with the Project Management team on-site or at depots to deliver projects within the budget and on time.
  • Ensure that all drawings, tooling, fixtures, test equipment are fit for purpose & available prior to the commencement of a job
  • Identify and report new revenue opportunities and improvements within your area
  • Ability to solve problems and act as first point of contact, providing support and escalating if required
  • Strong technical expertise to enable troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational skills to be able to organise workload

Experience/ Qualifications for the Field Service Engineer

  • At least 2 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above, including English Language and Mathematics
  • ONC or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is essential
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering HNC/HND, or NVQ level 4 / Foundation Degree is a bonus
  • Clean & Full Driving Licence
