SALARY

  • 15.00 to 16.00 per hour (negotiable at interview - dependant on experience)
  • DAYS ROLE - 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday 07:45am to 16:45pm
  • Friday 07:45am to 12:45pm

JOB SUMMARY

Alecto Recruitment is working with a highly regarded and well renowned Precision Engineering company in the Crewe area producing a wide range of machined products on a variety of machines. Using products and material types including ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless steel, plastics, and composites. The company are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Miller with programming skills using Heidenhain controls to produce parts to tolerances specified on customer drawings, in an efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Programming milling machines both manually and using customer supplied files.
  • Setting up the milling machines for the most efficient production of the batch size required.
  • Selecting the correct material type and grade from stores, maintaining traceability.
  • Machining first off samples for inspection.
  • Programming and setting machine(s) for lower skilled operatives and monitoring same.
  • Machining production quantities ranging from single items to hundreds.
  • Deburring all machined parts when and where required also carrying out all routine maintenance of the allocated machine.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Experience of working in an engineering machining environment for a minimum of 5 YEARS.
  • Experience of PROGRAMMING and operating milling machines with HEIDENHAIN controls, for a minimum of 2 YEARS is essential.
  • Experience of working with a variety of material types.
  • Experience of operating a CMM machine would be advantageous.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models and determine the best approach to the component manufacture.
