Woman 'in her 50s' taken to hospital following golf buggy crash at Crewe venue

A woman 'in her 50s' has been taken to hospital - following a crash between two golf buggies at a Crewe leisure venue.

The incident at Wychwood Park Golf Club, Weston, happened at 6:09pm on Sunday 21 May.

North West ambulance Service paramedics and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters quickly arrived at the scene - supporting those involved.

Two golf buggies collided with one another at Wychwood Park Golf Club (Wychwood Park Hotel & Golf Club).

A woman, described as being "in her 50s," was immediately taken to Leighton Hospital.

There were no reports of any serious injuries.

On Monday 22 May, North West Ambulance Service confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "We attended the scene following reports of a crash between two golf buggies.

"We were called at 6:07pm. A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital."

Due to the incident taking place on private land, Cheshire Police did not attend the actual incident.

A woman, described as being 'in her 50s,' was immediately taken to Leighton Hospital (Ryan Parker).

A spokesperson added: "On Sunday 21 May, police were made aware of a collision between two golf buggies at Wychwood Park, Crewe.

"As the incident was on private land and there were no reports of any serious injuries, police did not attend."

Following the incident, Wychwood Park general manager, David Walker, released social media statement - confirming the crash wasn't as serious as originally thought.

The manager's statement read: "There was an incident on the course this evening.

Wychwood Park confirmed the golf buggy crash wasn't as serious as originally thought (Nub News).

"Thankfully it is not as serious as was originally thought and all concerned are being looked after as required."

Crewe Nub News has contacted Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service for comment.
