The grand opening night for a town centre venue took place with a sold-out event - bringing in 300 people.

The Crozzy launched on Chester Street, Crewe, on Friday (June 17).

Top UK 1980's electronica & new wave tribute band, 'Electromantics', were the headline act.

Electromantics performed at the Crozzy - Friday June 17 (Jonathan White).

The group were supported beforehand by special guest Alisha Parker.

There was also a Retro Disco with DJ Kev. Refreshments were available from a mobile burger bar.

Electromantics performed a set, to an audience of 300 people, recreating songs by the artists Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Blancmange, Kraftwerk and Gary Numan.

There were also songs from the likes of New Order, Howard Jones, Soft Cell, OMD, and Depeche Mode.

The former Crosville Club, Chester Street, is under new management. It is now called The Crozzy (Ryan Parker).

The Crozzy was formerly the Crosville Social Club, receiving a full redecoration to bring the venue up to date.

It is now a dedicated event and function venue with three rooms that can be used for any event.

This is from gigs and tribute bands for 300 people, to birthday parties and almost anything in between.

Future evening events at The Crozzy include:

  • Friday 8 July - 90's dance tribute show 'Ultra 90s', will perform the music of Faithless, Prodigy, 2Unlimited, Corona, Snap!, Technotronic, Rozalla, and many more.

Ryan Mellor, band promoter, said: "What a fantastic turn out for my first event after the pandemic.

"It was great to see the people of Crewe and beyond having a venue back in the town centre that will be hosting all sorts of gigs and events.

"There will be something for everyone as we are working with other promoters to bring a wider audience to the venue.

"The next event is not to be missed as 'Ultra 90s' are selling out at large venues all over the UK."
