New Crewe Indian eatery successfully opens after trying 'again and again' to land a stall
A new Crewe Indian food stall has opened inside a Crewe town centre venue - after months of trying to land a unit.
Bombaye Junction opened inside Crewe Market Hall for the first time on Friday (June 3) at 2pm.
The authentic Indian eatery has been well received by customers - since launching inside the venue.
"We chose Crewe Market Hall, because it has everything we wanted. There are so many customers already here, says joint-business owner 'Robby.'
Robby was born in the Indian city of Delhi and now lives Nantwich.
The business owner believed there was a gap in the market for authentic Indian food.
Robby told Nub News: "I am very passionate about Indian food.
"Since I've moved over to this country, I haven't been able to find food that has the authentic Indian taste.
"Me and partner decided that we were going to open a small unit at Crewe Market Hall and do just that."
Robby and her partner Dr Vipul Jindal were impressed by the Crewe town centre venue on their first visit - waiting to open a stall right away.
The business owner said: "I came to Crewe Market Hall about a year ago, just after it had opened when an event was going on. I really liked the atmosphere and the events on offer.
"I saw that one of the units was available and contacted the market management team.
"At the beginning, they came back to me and said nothing was available. I kept trying and trying.
"After six months, I got through and was offered the opportunity to open a stall here. I have worked really hard to get this business open."
Robby likes that her business doesn't have to go all out on advertising, due to the promotion all stalls receive from Crewe Market Hall on social media.
Robby said: "We don't have to publicise ourselves, lots of customers already come here for different cuisines.
"Indian Cuisine was missing and we thought it was a good opportunity to let people try Indian food in this venue."
Bombaye Junction is not the only business to recently open inside Crewe Market Hall.
Last month, Mexican stall Mexicano De Jimmy, reopened in the venue - following a change in ownership.
Currently, the Indian stall is focusing on three main dishes to serve to customers.
Robby added: "Our USP at the moment, is chicken biryani, samosas and onion bhajis. People love these dishes.
"We will be introducing more food items soon, once we settle down."
Bombaye Junction is still in its settling down phase. The stall has now been open for two weeks.
After its trial launch on Friday (June 3), the business opened all day on Saturday and Sunday (June 4 and 5).
Robby added: "The Saturday went really well. We then sold out on the Sunday.
"The customers that came to us said the food was really nice, they really liked it.
"Many said they wanted to come back to us again, the said the taste was excellent."
Bombaye Junction is open from 10:30am to 6pm on Wednesdays, 10:30am to 9pm on Thursdays, 10:30am to 11pm, Fridays and Saturdays and 11am to 7pm on Sundays.
