A number of Crewe householders dressed their properties in Halloween decorations this year - Nub News takes a look at some of them here.
The origins of Halloween date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, meaning 'summer's end.'
This Feast of the Dead heralded the beginning of winter and the 'darker half' of the year.
Several Crewe householders dressed their properties in ghoulishly good Halloween decorations.
They were all a spooky sight, but the houses I particularly liked were on the Wistaston Brook estate (formerly Witters Field) with numerous expertly carved pumpkins.
Prunus Road had houses featuring creepy movie characters, disembowelled bodies, and a giant spider.
A special mention to Miss Connell on Merlin Way who setup her third annual 'Spooky Garden' at the front of her house.
The display opened on October 1 and featured a cemetery, coffin with smoke, horror hospital, pumpkins, LED lights, and chilling music.
She also kindly gave out sweet cones to children trick-or-treating.
Miss Connell has had people travelling from all over the county to see her display - including Macclesfield and Winsford.
Trick or test fancy-dress worn on Halloween included skeletons, ghosts, creepy clowns, werewolves, and numerous little witches.
Blitz Fireworks on Hightown also had its annual Halloween window displays - always terrifying.
Other special mentions for displays in Crewe are Underwood Lane and Sedgemere Avenue.
