A popular Crewe theatre is opening its doors for a free community event - offering visitors the chance to explore around and take part in activities.

Crewe Lyceum Theatre, Heath Street, is throwing open the doors for a Fun Palace on Sunday (October 2).

The Lyceum's Young Ambassadors are organising and hosting the event - aimed at everyone in the local area.

Visitors can explore the theatre, learn new skills and take part in a fun-filled day - running from 11am till 4pm.

Activities include: make your own theatre prop, taking funny photos with costumes, experiencing the theatre's sensory tents and bookmark designing.

There will be an arts and craft activities and an interactive performance by Laura Surgenor.

For the younger children, there is also a storytelling corner.

Visitors can explore the theatre, learn new skills and take part in a fun-filled day - running from 11am till 4pm (Crewe Lyceum Theatre).

Fun Palaces showcase arts, science, craft, tech, digital, heritage, sports events or activities - culture at the heart of the community.

The community event is free to enter - aiming to provide inclusive activity for all ages.

The Fun Palace takes place during a national Fun Palaces Weekend - running from 30 September - 2 October.
