Popular Crewe fish and chip shop set to reopen following 'unexpected' incident
A popular Crewe fish and chip shop is finally set to reopen after overcoming an "unexpected" incident, where a car ploughed through the building.
Coronation Fish Bar, Coronation Street, will be reopening on Wednesday 16 August, just over a year since the business was forced to close.
On August 3, 2022, a grey Audi saloon collided with the Crewe chippy while the owners were on holiday, causing significant structural damage.
The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old local man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and drug driving.
Coronation Fish Bar promised it would eventually reopen again, with redevelopment works taking several months to be completed.
A Coronation Fish Bar social media statement read: "Exciting news. Your favourite chip shop is back.
"We've overcome the unexpected and we will be here to welcome you back on Wednesday the 16th of August.
"Join us for a meal and a cheerful catch-up, just like old times."
Coronation Fish Bar is currently seeking experienced servers to join its team for the grand reopening.
