Cheshire Police were called to a collision in Crewe yesterday evening, taking place at an accident hotspot in the town.

On Monday 24 February, officers received reports of a collision on Walthall Street, at the junction with Gainsborough Road.

The Crewe South collision involved two vehicles, a Mercedes and BMW, with both drivers sustaining minor injuries. No arrests were made.

This was the third reported collision at the Walthall Street junction already this year, with local residents calling for new road safety measures (Cheshire Police).

Some called for speed bumps on the approach to the junction, with others requesting a new stop sign and give way markings.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 5.44pm on Monday 24 February, police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Walthall Street in Crewe.

"There were no reports of any serious injuries."
