Crewe family butchers trading since 1945 suddenly closes
A Crewe family butchers trading in the town since 1945 has suddenly closed, reportedly owing thousands of pounds.
Longman's Family Butchers, Wistaston Road, shuttered in mid-February, with no signs of reopening.
The fourth-generation family business had been serving the Crewe community for the past 80 years.
According to social media reports, staff were not given notice of the closure and have not yet been paid.
Customers who have made delivery orders within the last week have not received them.
One Crewe resident said: "Unfortunately they have closed down with no notice to staff whatsoever and staff have not been paid either.
"As far as I am aware all orders through the website have been refunded as I can see the app.
"I would check your bank if you have had a refund and if not contact your bank."
Longman's Family Butchers are not answering phone calls and are yet to respond to Crewe Nub News.
