Plans resubmitted to convert old Crewe takeaway into new shop and apartments
By Ryan Parker 10th Dec 2025
Plans have been submitted to convert a former Chinese takeaway in Crewe into a new convenience store with upper floor flats.
This July, applicant, Mr H Mazi, applied for a change of use to a convenience shop at ground floor level at 67 Earle Street, formerly occupied by The Supercook.
The applicant also applied for full planning for a two-storey rear extension, with two residential units above the proposed shop at the old Chinese chippy.
In November, Mr Mazi resubmitted the Earle Street plans showing a clear explanation of his intentions, which had originally appeared blurred.

For the new ground floor shop, a staff room is proposed, alongside a toilet.
One of the upstairs flats would be two-bedroom, with a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The other would consist of one-bedroom, comprising a living room, kitchen and wet room.
The Supercook building has been vacant since the COVID-19 pandemic five years ago, when the business closed suddenly.

It is proposed there will be two convenience store parking spaces to the rear, adjacent to bin storage and a yard.
The last date for submitting comments is now Friday 19 December, with a target decision date of Friday 2 January.
