Plans to convert former Crewe takeaway into new shop and apartments

Plans have been submitted to convert a former Chinese takeaway in Crewe into a new convenience store with upper floor flats.
This July, applicant, Mr H Mazi, applied for a change of use to a convenience shop at ground floor level at 67 Earle Street, formerly occupied by The Supercook.
The applicant has also applied for full planning for a two-storey rear extension, with two residential units above the proposed shop at the old Chinese chippy.

One of the flats would be one-bedroom, comprising a living room, kitchen and bathroom. The other would consist of two bedrooms, with with a living room, kitchen and bathroom.
The Supercook building has been vacant since the COVID-19 pandemic five years ago, when the business closed suddenly.
It is proposed there will be two convenience store parking spaces to the rear, adjacent to bin storage and a yard.

The last date for submitting comments on the application is Friday 1 August, with a target decision date of Friday 28 August.
