Plans have been submitted for a large new food and drink outlets development with a family arcade, located in a Crewe town centre building.

On Monday 2 October, Mr Tarek Abbas Adham, of East Acton, London, applied to Cheshire East Council for a change of use of the former JD Sports unit on Queensway.

Mr Adham wants to convert the shop chain building into a restaurant/ coffee shop/ bubble tea shop, also creating a roof extension with a pergola and greenery.

On Monday 2 October, Mr Tarek Abbas Adham, of East Acton, London, applied to Cheshire East Council for a change of use of the former JD Sports unit on Queensway (Ryan Parker).

On the ground floor, plans include children's arcade machines, food and drink serving counters, tables and chairs, toilets and two passenger lifts.

It is proposed the first floor will be used as an extra space for the food and drink venues.

The roof extension is planned to provide a space for gatherings and events, promoting social interaction.

A design and access planning statement reads: "The existing ground floor is to be used a coffee shop/ restaurant/ bubble tea shop with some area for children's gaming machines to attract customers, especially families with children.

"It is proposed to utilise the first floor as an extra space for the restaurant venues.

The last day for submitting comments on the Crewe town centre application is Monday 30 October, with a target decision date of Monday 27 November (Cheshire East Planning).

"The rear of the top floor extension is to be built in brick to match existing and at the front of the proposal is for a timber pergola with climbing plants.

"All the floors will be served by two passenger lifts (suitable for disabled people) and the existing fire escape staircase will be extended all the way to the roof.

"The roof extension will be almost invisible from the pathway level and will contribute to enhancing its functionality, aesthetics and overall value.

"The roof tarries will foster a sense of community among customers in commercial settings.

"It will provide a space for gatherings and events, promoting social interactions and web-being, also creating a unique selling point."
