Crewe's new sports-fashion store set to open this weekend - creating 15 new jobs
A leading UK sports-fashion retailer has confirmed it will be relocating to its bigger Crewe store this weekend - creating 15 news jobs in the process.
JD Sports is set to open its new store on Crewe's Grand Junction Retail Park this Saturday (August 20).
The unit, formerly occupied by Poundstetcher, is 6,300 square feet in size - more than three times bigger than the Crewe town centre store.
Crewe's JD Sports store, Queensway has always retailed at 2,000 sq ft. It is now closing down to make way for the bigger unit.
JD Crewe's store manager told Nub News: "You can expect a bigger and better shopping experience with a lot more exciting brands due to the increase of space.
"There will be a more impressive look and feel, with more staff and a more pleasant experience for customers."
The sports retailer is offering a special opening deal where could get your trainers personalised for absolutely nothing.
JD will be offering free customisations to anyone who purchases sneakers in-store on the opening weekend.
Customisations will comprise of custom laces, lace buckles and lace plates.
If you are checking out the new Crewe JD Sports store this weekend, look out for the JD promotional staff walking around the retail park.
There will be a DJ performing at the new store this Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier this month (August 3), JD Sports confirmed to Nub News it will be moving to the Grand Junction Retail Park later this month.
A JD Sports spokesperson told Nub News: "We are excited to open our new Crewe store later this month, which will be more than double the size of our current store.
"It will give customers access to a wider range of fantastic sportswear and fashion."
JD Sports believe the bigger location will provide the opportunity to present a wider offering of sportswear and fashion to Crewe customers.
This development has taken approximately six months since JD Sports confirmed its Crewe relocation.
