Woman arrested for drug driving after MINI seen 'swerving' over road in Crewe
A woman has been arrested for drug driving after a MINI was seen "swerving over the road," almost hitting a parked car in Crewe.
On Tuesday 10 October, Cheshire Police noticed a white MINI One being driven erratically on Davenport Avenue.
At 9:24pm, the MINI almost hit a parked car with officers pulling the vehicle over.
The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old female, was roadside drug tested, which came back positive for cannabis.
She was arrested for drug driving and driving with an incorrect license. The MINI was seized for being driven without insurance.
The woman was taken into police custody and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A female from Crewe was arrested after a traffic stop on Tuesday 10 October.
"At 9:20pm, hours officers noticed a white MINI swerving over the road and witnessed it nearly hit a parked car on Davenport Avenue.
"The vehicle was stopped, and it was also showing no insurance.
"A female driver was roadside drug tested, which tested positive for cannabis.
"She was arrested for drug driving and the car was seized for no insurance.
"The female was taken Into Police custody and the investigation is continuing."
