Person taken to hospital following serious house fire in Crewe
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a serious house blaze at a Crewe property - with one casualty taken to hospital.
The incident at a property on Lunt Avenue was reported at 7:58pm last night (September 6).
Two fire engines from Crewe, one from Nantwich and the rapid response rescue unit from Nantwich quickly arrived at the scene.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a large fire within the kitchen of a house.
Reports to Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service claimed that people could be trapped inside the property.
Firefighters confirmed this was not the case - also believing the blaze started accidentally.
One casualty suffered smoke inhalation and was rushed to Leighton Hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "A kitchen fire was reported with the possibility of people being trapped in the property.
"When firefighters arrived they fortunately found nobody was trapped.
"The crews, in breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
"A high pressure fan was then used to clear smoke and ventilate the property.
"One casualty suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
"The fire started accidentally."
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service continue to keep the public safe in emergency situations.
